PAST PRESENT FUTURE (POEM)

the past floats further from the shore

dimming in mind, echoing ever more faintly till

it passes over the horizon … did what exist?

the present never pretends to be other than

a sledgehammer to the temple, straight roads into

the mind, having travelled over many mountains

the future is a seed, sewn in its own time

pregnant with new emotion

lost amongst the dreams of innocence
